Description
Licorice is a perennial herbaceous plant, up to one meter tall, belonging to the Fabaceae family, widespread and cultivated in Italy, Spain, France, Turkey and other Mediterranean areas.
The licorice root is used, harvested in autumn after two-three years of cultivation , and subsequently dried, to obtain licorice sticks. In our case the sticks are broken up to facilitate the preparation of the decoction.
Our plants are all grown in the Fermo countryside, in Italy, with natural farming techniques, without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers of any kind.
Roots are dried at low temperatures (<43°). Finally the roots are shredded and packaged.
Usage tips
Since these are roots, a decoction is prepared with licorice .
The licorice decoction is prepared as follows: pour a teaspoon of licorice roots in about 250 ml of water (one cup). Put everything in a saucepan and let it heat until boiling. Then let it simmer for another 15 minutes, finally turn off, filter and drink the infusion.
Warnings
